Steven Rivera, the esteemed founder and CEO of SMR Music Edits, has been a driving force in the music editing industry since he founded the company in the fall of 2018. Steven's passion for music editing dates to his childhood, where he first delved into the art using cassettes. As technology advanced, Steven transitioned to computer-based music editing in 2005, expanding his skills and honing his craft using various programs including Cakewalk Music Creator among others.
Notably, Steven's journey is marked by resilience and determination. Despite being born prematurely and facing various disabilities such as cerebral palsy, epilepsy, hearing and vision issues among others, he never let these challenges hinder his pursuit of his passion. In Steven's own words, "that doesn’t hold me back in any regard from pursuing my passion."
The idea for SMR Music Edits stemmed from Steven's vision, which he shared with his family for their guidance and input. With his sister owning a dance studio, Steven sought advice on how to turn his dream into reality. Acknowledging his sister’s and parents’ pivotal role, Steven emphasizes, "honestly I couldn’t do any of this without their guidance and help."
Thanks to Steven's unwavering dedication and the invaluable support of his family, SMR Music Edits has thrived, serving as a testament to Steven's indomitable spirit and determination. Through his pioneering work, Steven continues to inspire others to overcome barriers and pursue their aspirations, regardless of the obstacles they may face.
Rebecca Tyler is the co-director of SMR Music Edits. Playing a vital role since the beginning, Rebecca has always been there to guide and help Steven in any way possible. She began her journey in dance by training under Miss Kelly Jackson at Dance Arts Centre, subsequently continuing her education at ABC Center for Performing Arts under Miss Amy Burns-Cuozzo until her graduation in 2010. In the summer of 2015, Rebecca founded her own dance studio, Limitless Performing Arts Complex, a milestone she considers her greatest accomplishment.
Rebecca holds certification in ABT (American Ballet Theater) training and is an active member and speaker for More Than Just Great Dancing. Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys reading and spending quality time with her family and friends, particularly her husband Callahan and their two children.
We are proud to have her as our co-director. Thank you, Rebecca, for all you do. We are forever grateful.
